Join us building a gateway for business to Africa
Long and winding road
After preparation of almost two years the African Leadership Shirts where ready for a presentation to the audience at Let's meet Africa and Do Business in EIndhoven. It was a long and winding road for OAVm and its business partners in South Africa to have the design just right as intended. It had to be a shirt which was professionally made and could face the competition world wide. Because FIFA World Cup 2010 is not only a huge sports event but becomes more and more the playground of more and more international sponsors. The idea behind the shirt is to let the people from South Africa gain as much as possible from this event. The people of South Africa are proud of their flag because of the traditional values and history. It would be good if a lot of South Africans buy the shirt, not only for the support of their 'Bafana Bafana' but also to support their own people and economy. The retail and manufacturing sector is suffering from the import of cheap materials from China at this moment which creates a bigger unemployment problem as it already was under previous disadvantaged black woman in South Africa.
Beadwork
With the production of the shirts several communities will be involved. HIV infected women from Cape Town will produce small beaded flags of the country where the shirt is being sent to. The buyer does not only receives a very exclusive shirt which helps fighting the unemployment of Black South African woman but also a small present of the 'beadwomen' of South Africa who can provide tranportation to the HIV clinic by selling these beaded flags.
Support for schools
Also schools like the Hutton school and their students like above will receive a part of the benefits of the selling of the African Leadership Shirts. Together with SCORE foundation projects will ne initiated where the children at these schools will benefit from projects where the children will be taught how sports can contribute to teambuilding and social development and avoid the fact that the youth of South Africa will look for social entertainment on the streets in the many townships instead of in the schools and participating at these projects.

The back of the shirt is available in different colors; black, white, red, blue and yellow. Additional colors could be ordered. These shirts are made with care. If the shirt is provided with an African Leadership logo you are sure benefits of the sales of the shirts will go to the groups as mentioned above. The logo represents the cooperation between OAVM Netherlands and Malibongwe South Africa.
