Let's Meet Africa
and Do Business
Networking on the wine square
Of course there is no exhibition about Africa complete without having any wine from South Africa. Wine plays a very important role in business when it comes to networking. During our exhibition we designed especially for the visitors of the exhibition a wine square in the middle of of the exhibition hall where you can rest or network enjoying a glass of South African wine. For a look at the virtual wine square, click here .
Your business card is worth a glass of wine
If you hand us over your business card at the entrance of the exhibition you will receive a voucher from us for a free glass of wine on the wine square at the exhibition. You will only be able to receive this voucher only once and only at the entrance of the exhibition. You will not be able t
o transfer your business card into a wine voucher during your visit at the exhibition. At our information stand you will be able to buy more vouchers for wine at the wine square.
Groenland and Sylvanvale wines
OAVM Organisation & Consultancy arranged that Groenland wines and SylvanVale wines from Stellenbosch will be present at the exhibition to present their wines for the very first time on the Dutch market. OAVM is also the importer of these wines into the Netherlands. Owner Piet Steenkamp together with his father Kosi Steenkamp from Groenland wines made their wines into an international succes and winning many prizes. SylvanVale is the name given to the Vineyards surrounding the historic Devon Valley Hotel. Built in 1947, the hotel is a well-known Stellenbosch landmark and generations of Stellenbosch residents have fond memories of enjoying a drink or a meal while sitting on the hotel patio overlooking the vineyards. It is these vineyards which now produce the SylvanVale wines for the Louis Family.
Grapes have been grown on the property since the 1960s. Today, SylvanVale offers some of the finest quality vineyards in the valley. The south-east facing slopes, with their rich red soils and cool Atlantic Breeze, produce superb Pinotage, Cabernet and Chenin Blanc cultivars.
From the 2003 harvest, the production of SylvanVale wines moved from Martin Meinert's Devoncrest cellar to the new cellar at Monterosso, with Mark Carmichael-Green, now filling the position as winemaker.
SylvanVale produces a range of handmade 'boutique' wines including the superb full-bodied Pinotage Reserve, matured in new French oak, a crisp and fruity dry Rosé made entirely from Cabernet Sauvignon and the rich but dry Chenin Blanc.
SylvanVale has made innovative 'Vine-Dried' wines from the Chenin Blanc cultivar, which comprises specially selected bunches that were naturally dried on the vines. This is a highly labour intensive process, with each bunch needing repeated individual attention after the stems are snapped to facilitate the drying process.
It is now called the Jewel of the Valley, a wonderfully sweet wine with billowing pear and honey aromas, but with a counterbalancing acidity.
